The CHOKO Team would like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who attended the Beer Festival on Saturday. Together we have managed to raise around £8500 for our chosen charities which include Go M.A.D in Tanzania, Cholsey Primary School PTA, The Cholsey Volunteers and Cholsey Pre-School.
We really appreciate some of the lovely messages that we’ve received, and are very grateful for everybody’s support.
Huge credit has to go out to our performers who helped make the day buoyant and entertaining, this includes Cholsey Community Choir, who once again kicked off proceedings, also to Fleur Stevenson who along with Drew and Maff performed an extended set for us during the afternoon, and to the army of Ukulele players on stage for the always entertaining The Dukes – Didcot Ukuleles. set, and to Cholsey’s very own DJ Ollie for another knockout late-afternoon mix of dance anthems, and to The deluded – gracing the Choko stage for the first time for the early evening set, and finally to our power-chord 80’s rock headliners, The MFU (pictured herewith), for seeing out the day in style. You are all superstars in our eyes and we thank you for giving up your time for us. Also, a huge amount of appreciation has to go to Ooops Entertainment, who, even with a man down, were able to ensure that the show went ahead.
We need to also thank our valued sponsors whose support and generosity enables the event to go ahead. We’re glad so many of you got to attend this year and experience the event for yourselves.
As ever we would like to highlight the support of this years principal cup sponsor – The Barn Fitness Club, as well as James Gesner Estate Agents for the continued support in promoting the event, as well as the ongoing support from Amwell Springs Brew Co., Mr and Mrs Park’s Family Butchers, Didcot Plant Ltd, Your Print Solution UK, Haynes Car Care Centre, Carline Creative, Grundon, Lawlor’s The Bakers and Allmakes 4×4 who all contribute to the running of the festival and to whom we are extremely grateful.
We also welcomed a few new sponsors this year including Ox Shed Cafe, Shanagher.com and OX-IT Solutions Ltd and we thank them greatly for their support.
We must also acknowledge our volunteers – without whom, we would never have been able to run this festival for 17 years – whether helping on the principal committee, helping to setup (JW and TR – this is particularly going out to you), helping on the day or dragging yourself back to the hall the following morning to help us clear up (Yes Daisy!!!), you are all valued and appreciated.
And to all those in attendance, a massive heartfelt thank you for being such a kick-ass community. Your positivity and generosity are so warmly appreciated by everyone at Choko and by the charitable causes we support.
Lastly, a special mention to Dan Mayer, who as many of you will know was unable to attend the festival year – we’ve dusted down the microphone for you brother, all ready for next year.
Our next Beer Festival will be on Saturday 26th September 2026. Hope to see you all there.
All best
The CHOKO Beer Festival Team
